Job Opening: LAB AST 2 (Laboratory Technician)
Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Laboratory Group Manager, perform routine operations in the Air Quality Research Center Laboratory including all aspects of preparing air monitoring filters for analysis. Continuously load and unload samples for instruments used for air monitoring analysis, conduct measurements, process data to verify measurements, and maintain instrument logbooks and records. Perform quality control analyses and review quality control results. Communicate with higher level laboratory assistants, the spectroscopist, and the lab manager about quality issues and instrument issues. Perform training for student assistants and new laboratory assistants. Maintain laboratory supply inventory and assist with ordering.
