Elements

X-ray Fluorescence (XRF)

AQMT utilizes PANalytical Epsilon 5 XRF instruments to determine comprehensive elemental coverage.

Synchrotron-induced X-ray Fluorescence (SXRF)

Elemental analysis at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource.

Provides elemental concentrations for Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, As, Se, Br, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Cd, In, Sn, Sb, I, Cs, Ba, La, Ce, W, Pb, and Bi for various sample types.

Minimum order of 1,100 samples required.

Crocker Nuclear Laboratory Proton Analysis 

Order Services: Nicholas Spada

Elemental analysis via Proton-Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE), Proton Elastic Scattering Analysis (PESA), and Rutherford Backscattering (RBS).

Provides elemental concentrations for H, C, N, O, Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn for various sample types.

Minimum order of 200 samples required.

Mass and Optical Analysis of Strip-based Samples

Soft beta ray attenuation and multi-angle/broadband spectroscopy.

Provides mass concentrations and absorption/scattering coefficients at 16 wavelengths for size-segregated samples collected by the DRUM impactor.
